Ep. 25: The Future of Gen X Health: The Power of Pharamcogenomics, Genetic Testing, and Microdosing with Matt Comneck

The goal with [pharmacogenomics] . . . is to be able to decrease [the] therapeutic guessing game, get you on the medication that's best for you earlier, and decrease [the] time, energy, [and] money involved. — Matt Comneck

Are you one of the 131 million Americans (which is 66% of the adult U.S. population) who is on prescription drugs?

Did you know that according to the Personalized Medicine Coalition, the percentages of people who are on ineffective prescription drugs (i.e., drugs that don’t work best for them), are:

  • 38% for anti-depressants

  • 40% for asthma

  • 43% for diabetes

  • 50% for arthritis

  • 70% for Alzheimer's

  • 65% for cancer?

Most Gen X’ers know what it’s like to feel victimized by a formulaic health care system that takes a one-size-fits-all approach to prescription medicine, making you suffer through the trial and error of various medications to figure out what, if anything, works best for you.

In the meantime, your physical, mental, and emotional health suffers, along with your loved ones.

What if you could:

  • better understand how your body–based on your genetics–metabolizes prescription medications and drugs (like caffeine)?

  • decrease your prescription drug costs and increase the efficacy of the drugs you are taking?

  • access a more tailored healthcare plan that allows you to take more control over your health and your life?

Enter Matt Comneck of Grounded Healthcare.

Matt has committed his career to advancing the healthcare space. With a multifaceted background spanning health administration to medical devices, he has collaborated with a variety of healthcare providers to enhance patient care. In recent years, Matt owned and operated a clinical laboratory that worked to expand operations for a rural health system. Through this work, Matt worked closely with wellness and behavioral health providers to personalize treatment plans for patients. With his diverse background in healthcare, he started to realize the current healthcare system was flawed and lacked personalized care. He currently works with Grounded Healthcare to educate and advocate for microdosing and genetic testing for safe consumption practices.  Mr. Comneck received a Bachelor of Science and holds a Masters in Public Health, emphasizing Health Policy and Management. Both degrees were acquired from Texas A&M University.

Grounded Healthcare is a virtual wellness organization specializing in personalized care through advanced genetic analysis.
