Ep. 36:  The Deep Work of Healing:  Shame-Free, Practical Wisdom with myisha t. hill

When we move forward, we heal humanity.   It’s like the concept of ubuntu . . . which means humanity toward others and is often translated to ‘I am because we are.’”

~ myisha t. hill, Heal Your Way Forward (at 18)

When you hear the word “healing,” what comes to mind?

If you’re a person who cares about other people and wants to make the world a better place for everyone, then consider this your invitation to embrace the notion of healing your way forward.

myisha t. hill returns this week with a powerful interview to celebrate the paperback release of her book, Heal Your Way Forward:  A Co-Conspirator’s Guide to An Anti-Racist Future.

I’ve read a lot of books along my journey of personal growth over the last few years.  And without a doubt, I can say that Heal Your Way Forward is the book that has had the most profound impact on me and the work I’m here to do in this world.

This book is about more than “anti-racism.”  It’s about seeing the systems that have conditioned and oppressed all of us in different ways.  It’s about learning how our own healing can help heal the world.  And it’s about embracing the messy, challenging path of this work by leaning into community and remembering that your humanity is intricately wrapped up in other’s humanity.

The journey of healing your way forward invites us to lean into the discomfort, see shame as a friend and teacher, and recognize when we are becoming overwhelmed and exhausted from treating our healing like it’s a job.

Heal Your Way Forward is a compassionate invitation to turn toward yourself so that we can all create a reparative future for everyone.

This book needs to get into more people’s hands so that we can all learn how to heal for ourselves and for the world.  Grab your paperback copy of Heal Your Way Forward:  A Co-Conspirator’s Guide to an Anti-Racist Future and get your freebies!  And while you’re at it–grab a copy for a friend too!
